AirTec Technology
Homag AirTec is a technology developed by Homag, a German company specializing in woodworking machinery. AirTec is a method for applying a zero-joint edge to furniture components, particularly in the realm of edge banding. This technology utilizes compressed air to apply a thin layer of adhesive to the edge of the panel before the edge banding material is applied.
The adhesive is activated by heat, causing it to bond firmly with the edge banding material and the panel itself. The result is a seamless, almost invisible joint between the edge banding and the panel, creating a high-quality finish that resembles solid wood.
- No visible glue line
- Significantly higher adherence force of the edge compared to hot melt glues
Homag AirTec technology is renowned for its precision, efficiency, and the high-quality finish it produces. It’s widely used in industries that require top-notch edge banding solutions, such as furniture manufacturing and woodworking.
